Google store screens

Google store screens

Throughout my role in leading the motion for all the wall screens at the inaugural Google retail store, I encountered numerous problem-solving opportunities that fueled my creativity and resourcefulness. By actively addressing the diverse needs of the project stakeholders, I was able to devise innovative solutions that brought the vision to life.

Immersing myself in the project, I made it a point to visit the store space during its construction phase and meticulously take measurements. This hands-on approach enabled me to envision how elements could seamlessly come together and anticipate the flow before implementing them in situ. Such careful planning and visualization laid the groundwork for a captivating and dynamic experience for visitors.

The power of preparation

To further understand the customer experience, I took the initiative to create a 3D model of the store, ensuring that we can troubleshoot animations as if they were in the store to account for different vantage points, Customer heat zones, or how high should the information be on a screen. This meticulous approach enabled us to shape the content displayed on the screens, adding an extra layer of immersion and engagement. Throughout the project, attention to detail remained paramount. We left no stone unturned, carefully analyzing the floor plans, assessing height requirements, and ensuring accessibility. We created a seamless and immersive environment that surpassed expectations by considering every aspect, maximizing customer engagement and satisfaction.

Lottie for the win!

These screens needed to become templates for the Google team to change them up with the seasons, or if there were different speakers, I pushed for us to work with Lottie files which would ultimately keep the integrity of the designs and accurately represent the animations I worked on. After countless calls with the tech team explaining to them about After Effects and Lottie, we discussed all possible bugs and various options based on the template's input. To ensure comprehensive coverage, I created multiple iterations of the template to output the final design and animation based on the info it reads from the CMS.

I had a blast creating endless motion explorations with many designs while keeping them true to the Google brand.
